WHAT TO VISIT IN BRUNETE?
Although it is unknown when it was exactly founded, it is known that it already existed by the 15th Century. During the Modern Age, Brunete became a noble villa of which the Counts of Chinchon were in charge. It was the king Carlos V who granted them both the title and the villa.
The name Bruente comes from the word bruneta, which, according to the Royal Spanish Academy, was a thick, black cloth. The use of such term shows the town’s deep link with both livestock and farming worlds.
